March 9, 1947-June 19, 2018.
Born in Ottawa, died of a heart attack at Cedar Lake, Quebec. He was 71.
Glen was born with a pioneer spirit. As an Ottawa Valley boy with Irish roots, he knew how to work hard, dream big and love deeply. He was an adventurous soul with an immense heart, the quiet patriarch of the family and a magnet for friends.
He was a builder by nature and built everything from boats, to homes, to high tech companies but his greatest and most enduring project was his family. He met the love of his life in high school, they married, had four children and toured the country as Glen turned his curious and talented mind to the high-tech business. While got his start with a paper route, he rose to the executive offices of SDL, MDI/Motorola, Simware and Sierra Wireless. He retired early to pursue his dream of building a boat and living on the high seas. He and Mimi sailed on the east coast, west coast, Mexico and the South Pacific.
But he always kept an anchor on shore at the family cottage compound he and Mimi built on Cedar lake where he devoted his tireless project drive to constructing tree houses, all kinds of gardens, and playhouses for his 6 grandchildren.
Glen is survived by his loving wife Mimi and their children Pennie (Stu), Scott, ( Nancy) Barrett, (Matt) Chris ( Kerry) and 6 grandchildren Hamish, Seb, Alex, Maggie, Annie and Ellie .
In lieu of flowers, have a sip of scotch for Glen.
A celebration of Glen’s life will be held on Saturday June 23 from 2-4 pm at his brother’s farm, 169 Kippen Road, White lake, Ontario. For more information contact:Cette adresse e-mail est protégée contre les robots spammeurs. Vous devez activer le JavaScript pour la visualiser.
