It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Josiyah Poucachiche-Ratt, who left us on July 17, 2025, at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. He was 21 years old.
Josiyah will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Ronny Poucachiche and Wanida Ratt, and his beloved tutor and guardian, Doreen Budge. He grew up closely with his brother Nolan Budge, sharing countless memories of love, laughter, and learning. He also leaves behind his cherished grandparents, Laurie Commando and Jerry Budge, and his uncles Owen Nottaway and Tim Budge, all of whom played meaningful roles in his life.
Josiyah was a beloved soul to many — remembered for his kind heart, warm presence, and enduring spirit. He will be deeply missed by his many siblings, extended family members, and numerous friends whose lives he touched in profound ways.
A wake in his honour will be held at the Kitigan Zibi Funeral Home on:

Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Wednesday, July 23, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with the closing ceremony at 2:00 p.m.

Following the ceremony, a feast will be held at the Kitigan Zibi Community Hall, where all are welcome to gather in remembrance and celebration of Josiyah’s life.
His spirit continues to live on in all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace and journey well.
