It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Jerome, an avid fiddler and fisherman from Rapid Lake, who left us far too soon on September 2, 2025, at the age of 22. William’s love for music and the outdoors brought joy to all who knew him. His fiddle could brighten any gathering, and his time spent fishing by the waters of Rapid Lake reflected his deep connection to nature and his community.
He was predeceased by his biological mother, Jeannette Jerome, and will be forever remembered by his parents, Wendy Ratt and Charlie Papatie. William will also be remembered by his siblings: Alice, Viviane, Sabrina, Kayla, A.J., Ryder, Mystin, and Nyquist, as well as by his many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who held him dear.
A wake for William will be held in Rapid Lake, beginning the evening of Thursday, September 4, 2025, and continuing until Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Following the wake, William will be cremated in accordance with his family’s wishes.
Though his time with us was short, William’s music, laughter, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
